Doctor Car Rent, a company owned by Doctor Hail and part of the broader MSA Mizar group ecosystem, operates in the car rental sector. With an extensive network of affiliated service centers and a large fleet of vehicles, it stands out for efficiency and reliability in the short- and long-term car rental market. The company mainly operates in B2B mode, supplying vehicles to its partner service centers, which in turn can rent them out to their customers.
Objective
The project is designed to monitor vehicles and automate the rental process with digital signatures, integrating with the management system to leverage existing data and reduce manual entries.
The solution
A mobile app has been developed for service center operators, dedicated to vehicle check-in and check-out operations, along with a web application for administrators, offering advanced tools for fleet analysis and management. The mobile app was built with React Native for iOS and Android, optimized for tablet use.
The system has been integrated with the management software used by the group, in order to fully leverage all the information already available in the system and avoid manual data entry, while still allowing the flexibility to add new records if they are not yet present in the system.
Main features
- Pre-filled rental data: the system connects with the ERP to automatically retrieve vehicle and customer information, simplifying the digital contract signing process.
- Flexible rentals: ability to manage rentals outside the ERP and add additional drivers.
- Automatic document delivery: the signed contract is sent via email to the case holder.
- Vehicle return: the check-in phase features a streamlined interface to record damages, attach photos/videos, and track parameters such as mileage and fuel level.
Web application
Built with Drupal 10, it also serves as the back end for the mobile app. The dashboard provides an up-to-date overview of the fleet, displaying each vehicle’s status and location on a map. Administrators can:
- Manage service centers and vehicles, including adding new ones.
- Access telematics data through integration with Targa Telematics.
- Analyze rental performance with detailed, filterable views.
The collaboration with Doctor Car Rent has led to the digitalization and automation of the entire fleet management process, reducing errors and operational time, improving the user experience, and strengthening the company’s position as an innovative player in the rental sector.
